What is LENS Therapy treatment like?
You sit in a comfortable chair while a sensor is placed on different parts of your head.
Each sensor is in place for about 20 seconds each; most people won’t feel anything, while occasionally a client may feel a slight tingling sensation to the area.
The total process lasts about 4 to 5 minutes and you are not required to “do” anything other than sit and be comfortable.
How effective is LENS Therapy?
LENS Therapy is effective in the majority of cases and is one of fastest working neurofeedback programs available.
More than 95% of our clients report significant improvement towards their goals and the results are long lasting.
Like any therapy, it works best for people that are motivated and want to improve. Attitude and willingness for change are critical. Our reputation is built on successful results so if we don’t feel LENS is for you, we won’t accept you as a client.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Since LENS Therapy is working with unique brain wave clusters and problems, there is no “set” amount of sessions you will need.
Typically, the more long standing and entrenched the symptoms, the longer they will take to resolve. The effects are cumulative and once the brain has been retrained, the results are long lasting if not permanent.
During a treatment, all areas of the brain are treated. Some areas will react more quickly than others, while those that have been suppressed for a long time may need a little longer. We typically suggest a minimum of 10 sessions during which time we will be reviewing the results and producing additional brain maps to see changes that are happening. A recommendation for further treatment can be made at that time if necessary.
How Soon Will I See Changes?
Most people experience improvements after the first few treatments but often they are so subtle, they don’t even realize it at first.
As with learning any new skill, the effects are cumulative. After continued, consistent treatments, new patterns will emerge and the changes will be more significant.
As the psychological core improves, old habits will naturally shift into healthier ones. It is not unusual for things to change that you didn’t even think about when you came in, like headaches disappearing, increased energy, a more positive outlook on life. These are just great bonuses!
Will I still need to take medication with LENS Therapy?
Any reductions in medication should be handled by your doctor. NEVER stop taking or alter your dosage of prescribed medications without consulting with the prescribing physician.
As the central nervous system becomes more regulated and symptoms subside, we often see a reduction in the amount of medication required to manage those symptoms. This is usually first apparent with sleeping medications, as sleep becomes easier without the outside help.

Is LENS Therapy Safe?
Yes! LENS Therapy is completely non-invasive and safe.
LENS Therapy is simply sending a small radio signal (less than what a digital watch uses) to the brain, disrupting clusters of frequencies that may have been locked together in rigid patterns and allowing them to become flexible again and organized in a more normal pattern.
Since its inception in the 1990’s, no one has ever been harmed using LENS Therapy. However, as with any “exercise” program, there can be side effects (see below)
Does LENS Therapy Have Side Effects?
Because LENS Therapy is essentially exercising your brain, the term “side effect” isn’t applicable in the same sense as for medications. Unlike medication, nothing is put into the body or brain.
LENS Therapy is the brain equivalent of physical exercises, and the most common side effect of physical exercise is that you get tired. As with physical training, fatigue is the most commonly reported side effect after a session.
Those with more serious emotional conditions or trauma occasionally report an increase of old familiar feelings before the difficulty passes away and the issue fades out for good. It’s a bit like going to the gym and feeling that old injury acting up, revealing what’s beneath. People often report vivid dreams as the mind settles into a more balanced position.
If you have had a physical brain injury or head trauma, you will likely be more sensitive to LENS Therapy. You might experience nausea, dizziness, and light sensitivity as you ‘re-regulate’ your brain function. This is part of the process and is not long lasting.
The changes usually take place quite seamlessly. Based on your intake forms and your brain map, we generally have a good idea of what of these effects, if any, you might experience.
We monitor your brain activity during LENS Therapy sessions, so can tell if your brain is getting tired or overworked and adjust your session accordingly
What type of results can I expect?
Most clients report a feeling of regaining the vitality they had gradually lost as other things got in the way.
A feeling of being more comfortable in their own skin; feeling more like themselves – alert and relaxed, alive and quiet at the same time.
The shifts are so organic to the brain that the way you feel and act seem perfectly natural – and it is, as you are acting more like yourself and less from automatic reactions. It doesn’t mean you won’t encounter life’s problems anymore, it just means you’ll handle them in a healthier way and the feelings won’t linger as before.
A fully balanced state is experienced as happiness, contentment, and clarity. Being in balance allows you to gain control and make choices that you weren’t able to before, as getting out of stuck habits allows you the freedom to choose your reactions rather than be over-run by them.
Does LENS Therapy use electric shock treatment?
No! Absolutely not, there is no use of electric shocks in LENS Neurofeedback Therapy.
The electric impulse we use is no more powerful than that of a cellphone. You will feel no pain when using LENS Neurofeedback. Promise.
Will I get a diagnosis? Is LENS Therapy a cure?
We don’t diagnose, nor is a diagnosis required to understand the problem.
We map your brain, looking for areas of over or under-activity that correspond to your symptoms, and send a small radio signal to the brain to bring it to attention and reorganize the brain waves to where they should be.
The medical diagnostic model doesn’t fit well into LENS Therapy. From our point of view, functional brain disorders aren’t ‘diseases’ or ‘illnesses’. We do not view anxiety, depression, insomnia, concussions, PTSD, memory, focus, autism etc. as illnesses to treat, but as reflections of fundamental brain disorganization; any of which could benefit from LENS Therapy.
For this reason, LENS is better viewed as ‘personal training’ rather than a ‘treatment’; a way to shift your mind out of stuck patterns to relieve the corresponding symptoms. Nor is LENS Therapy a ‘cure’ for these diagnosed conditions; we work toward symptom resolution by resolving the underlying imbalances.
Most people are simply relieved when they finally know what’s wrong, and that something can be done to change it.
From bottom of the class to the top!
“Our 13 year old son was having problems managing his explosive anger, attending school and completing his work there. He was also having trouble managing his personal relationships, both socially and at home.
After treatment at the HBC ‘the fog’ has cleared. It’s like he spent the first 13 years of his life walking around in a fog, I know he thinks more clearly now. He’s a much easier child to be with.”
Son-in-law is a different person after LENS Therapy
“My 24 year old son-in-law has just completed a series of LENS treatments at the Harmonized Brain Centers. He is more relaxed, able to have a calm conversation and stay on the subject. He is more thoughtful and genuine in his interactions.”
